What is "Mental Toughness?”

Here’s an example. Let’s say you are a sales manager and you hire Michael Phelps, most decorate
d Olympian of all time, to your sales team. Do you have any doubt he would quickly become one of your top salespeople? Of course not! But, why? Is it because he’s a great salesperson? No. In fact, we don’t even know what kind of sales experience he might have. We know he would be successful because of the way he thinks and his ability to overcome any personal obstacle. That’s what mental toughness is all about… teaching people to think like a professional athlete.
